It’s the final tour blog… da da da…. da da… da da da da da….

You’re supposed to sing the name of this blog, you know, like Final Countdown! I had to throw that in so you don’t think I’ve gone mental. So here it is. The final tour blog. Yes we’ve been home for a week now, but the video footage takes a while to go through. Plus it wouldn’t be as much fun without a little suspense ;) We’re all curious, what is YOUR favourite tour blog moment? Let us know!!!!

Lesson #11

After a few rocky weeks and almost losing my thumb a while ago the lessons are back on track! This is the last of Motor Ride and I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be doing Sunday Morning next week. Please let me know what you think of the lessons. I love hearing from you guys!

I’ve been doing a lot of recording lately and Kevin and I are going to be setting up his home studio this week. That means that the demos will be done pronto and a whole new batch of tunes awaits! Most are already written so it’s just a matter of recording them and sorting out a few parts.

Cheers

Best Tour to date!

Hi Everyone! We’re back in beautiful Vancouver and even though it’s so nice to come home, we really did have an amazing time and had some Epic shows on our way across a Big part of this great country. So lets get down to some tour dirt! Ok well i wasn’t up to much being the guy who can’t drink cuz of singing each night and the fact that i’m a good guy to my girl, but i’ll tell you… some of them Columbia boys know how to party! You should have seen it when… LOL I’m just messing around, that stays private! Anyways, we had an amazing time, great crowds and solid shows that people really seemed to like. We also checked out the Dinosaur museum in Alberta which is one of the best in the world and we stopped at the city of Vulcan Alberta! That’s right “Vulcan” like in Star Trek. Now ppl who really know me know that i’m quite the Trekkie, but i am quite picky and just stick with Next Generations and Voyager for the TV series. Don’t even talk to me about the original or that bull shit deep space 9 crap! hahaha kinda when a bit too into that… Anyways, it was an amazing time with a sweet star trek Station. The only down side was that there simulation bridge which is the size of the one on the show and which has 3 command posts (Jason, Rich & Myself, Brian hates that shit) was broken because of a thunder storm (or what i think might have been a photon blast) that hit the Trek Station. Ok Ok enough! I just want to thank everyone who came out and a big thanks to all our different sound guys who we had at all the venues. Great job! See you all again on Tour this October!!! It’s coming soon.

p.s. Have you seen the tour blogs? There a good time.

Kevin

Tour Blog #4

Hey everyone!!!!!

This is the fourth tour blog from our Summer tour. We are back home but sometimes the video footage takes a couple days to go through! There is one more in this series, which I am editing as we speak! There is some gratuitous male nudity in this one. What’s a blog series without a little nudity, anyways??? A waste of time, that’s what I say!

On a side note, I got a nice new GREEN amp jewel. It sounds lame but it’s pretty cool. You’ll see!!!

Cheers

Home in one piece

Well it was another successful Canadian tour for Columbia! We got in late last night/early this morning after playing our last show in Kamloops, BC. I came home to find that the lock on my apartment had been changed… needless to say I was confused and had to wake up the building manager in the middle of the night. Turns out they changed all the locks in the building right after I left, so all is well and I’m not evicted yet!

I want to thank everyone who came out to our shows, all the bands we played with & the people who put us up for a night or two in various towns.. you know who you are, we appreciate your generosity! I also have to mention the band ‘Bigger Fish than Guns’, who did a fantastic job promoting the show in Calgary, as well as the staff at the Blind Beggar. We had a lot of great shows but this was one that really exceeded our expectations.

We’re planning to rest up for a few days then get back into our practice studio to work on some more music.. Thanks again to everyone who made our tour a success, keep in touch & we’ll see ya again soon!

p.s. this is T-Rex skeleton we saw at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta – amazing place if you ever get a chance to check it out

Tour Blog #3

Hi guys

Here is the third tour blog from our Join Our Ride Summer Tour. This video is from Moose Jaw to Lethbridge. We always have a lot of fun in Moose Jaw and this time was no exception. The people there are fantastic. It’s definitely one of our favourite tour stops:)

I know that last week I said I was going to do a lesson from the road but I’m not too sure if I’ll have time. We’ve been extremely busy so far and I don’t know how much free time I’ll have. But I will try!!!!!

On the road again….

Columbia is back on the road!!!! We’re in Brandon, Manitoba, resting up before our show tonight at the Double Decker Tavern. We’ve already played at Club 29/29 in Vernon, BC, and The Vat in Red Deer, AB. We’ve had a blast so far. No sleep and long drives have made us all kinda goofy, but we all get along like a big dysfunctional family so it’s just fine!

Here is the first of the tour blogs. We’ve been doing tons of filming so we should be posting at least every other day. Enjoy!

Cheers

Rich
