Big Happy Family

Hi! So first of all, we’re absolutely thrilled to have Graeme officially in the band. He is a great addition and really brings a lot to the band. The new songs sound great and the old ones have a new breath of life in them. Good times ahead for sure!

On a more personal (and geeky) note, I’ve finally set my pedal board back up. It really feels nice to get back into the electric guitar mindframe. I was going stir crazy playing all the acoustic shows. I’ve been having a lot of fun making noise in my apartment! The final piece to the the pedal board puzzle is a tremolo pedal. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself this week ;) If you don’t know what tremolo is, it’s the shaky guitar sound that the black keys use a ton. I love it! In other gear news, I blew up and amp and had to take it in to get repaired. The dude who fixed it did some voodoo to it and I think it’s gonna be my new secret weapon. Sounds nuts!!!!

The last bit of news of note is that I finished the sugar skull tattoo on my shoulder. Well I guess technically I didn’t finish it, the tattoo artist did, but you know what I mean. It looks awesome!!

Anyways it’s time for me to finish watching a weirdo documentary on Bobby Fischer. Such a nut case!

Cheers

Rich

Inaugural Blog

Hey Folks,

This is my first shot throwing something up here so bare with me.

I’m really stoked to be a part of the band officially now. For those of you who came out to our acoustic-ish show at the Cellar a few weeks ago, it was great to meet you guys. The Columbia family is full of really amazing people and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all better.

My first night as an official member was spent with our good buddies Jordan from Static in the Stars and Tommy Mac from Hedley at their studio The Beatlab and man I have never seen such a beautiful collection of gear in all my life. The amp heads alone is reason enough to bring a change of pants. Aside from the stellar atmosphere, the boys and I had a great time writing with those talented dudes and we are looking forward to getting that demo finished soon so we can get it out to you guys sooner rather than later.

In the mean time, download our new song The Time for free and keep checking in for more updates and new material.

Its great to be a part of this and now I can say it for real,

Join our ride,

Graeme

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years everyone! 2011 was an interesting year full of surprises and new people. Richard and i spent New Years Eve partying with a few of my friends and our good buddy Tommy Mac from the band Hedley. It was an epic night. We’ll be working with Tommy in the new year at his studio. We can’t wait.

I want to thank all the new supporters on behalf of the band for being so enthusiastic about everything we’re up to, and of course our long term fans for always sticking with us. You mean so much to us. 2011 was a slower year for the band in terms of tours, we did have the Rock 4 M.S. Tour in May/June and we must have played in at least 6 new cities we’ve never been to, so that was fun. In 2011 we spent a great deal of the year writing new songs, so many songs in preparation for the new year!!! 2011 was also a bit of a hard year as well, the loss of my grandma and also Jeremy a best friend. But that’s life and all we can do is remember how amazing they were in the time they had with us. Love u both so much.

Ok, onto 2012, We’re heading into the studio, we’re planing tours and so much more! 2012 will be a crazy year! Love and respect to all.  Thanks for an amazing year.

Kevin

Have yourself a merry little Christmas

Hello friends and fellow Holidayers. It’s Kevin here, I just wanted to write a quick blog saying merry Christmas to everyone. It’s not about what religion you’re a part of, it’s about giving and being with ones family. You don’t need to celebrate anything but being happy and sharing time with the ones you love. In quick band news, we’ll be going into the studio for our next single in February and we’re so excited. Just you wait radios! We’re coming back baby. We’ve also been working with a new musician who’s been working out amazingly with the band. 3 part vocals and it’s epic, a true professional. Won’t let you know who for a bit. If you’re from Vancouver and know the music scene you might know this person… Anyways, happy holidays and thank you for this amazing year. Have a great holiday everyone/every religion. Peace and love yo.

Kevin Schallie

P.S. So excited for our show on Friday December 23rd in Vancouver. It’s going to be a special show with great acts playing with us and lots of new tunes. It’ll be our last show for a while until we come back to play a larger venue in town and go on the next tour.

Blue Blue Blue Christmas

Here’s a little something to spread some holiday cheer! Not quite the Elvis version, not quite the Porky Pig version, this is somewhere in the middle. Hope you like it!
